Driving home after casting hundreds of sugar indused kids, I am glad it’s Friday. I had a little chuckle on the way home in the traffic though. ladies should not wear shapeless tracksuit pants unless to the gym or around the house and men should not wear alice bands. Ok my two cents on Friday afternoon style.

Here is a style I do like. And we know I love handags.

I think these bags from Wren are great. Local S.A. Designer Wendren says “‘Local is lekker’ is an important aspect to the Wren label. Wherever possible Wren tries to promote the local design community and industry of South Africa. For example, the famous and traditional South African indigo and resist dyed fabric known as Shweshwe or Ujamani fabric is used as the base fabric for some bags.” That’s great! I like! See her shop for more designs!

Happy Friday!

Our prized TV Cabinet we found on the side of the road at a second hand shop. After driving around all Sunday afternoon it sprang out to us like a puppy from the SPCA. It had to be saved and loved!

Happy spring day! Blossoms are meant to be all over your shoes, bags and blouses this summer. So get inspired this spring with petal prints and frilly frocks. If it’s all just a little too frilly and flowery for you, ad some subtle hints like this brooch.

It is pouring with rain in Cape Town with record swells and destructive winds. So with no doubt in my mind I am sourcing online under a blanket on the couch today for inspiration for my “Home office” shoot I am creating next week. I always come to Style-Files for decor inspiration. They feature the best homes! Take a look at some quirky images below from Style-Files.

I am sure you have realized by now I am an avid fan of Babazeka. They have just taken part in their first Sanlam S.A. Fashion Week, read what Sarah has to say here. I am rather disappointed for Babazeka and it sounds like many of the stores where not too impressed with the organization and attendance. People wafting through to be “seen” and and to rub shoulders with the “Whose who”. Pretty sad really! Fashion and design should be taken with a pinch of salt I think. Wear what you like, appreciate good quality and craftsmanship and who cares what the fashion editor next to you is wearing. You aren’t her and she isn’t you, and that what’s makes life great.

Anyway, Welldone Babazeka on what looks like a great stand! We’ll be watching out for you at the next Design Indaba !

This one might be more for the boys, or I guess any gadget guru, but I love this sexy little silver clock. Working from home (a flat) it’s nice to know what the weather is doing outside. Unless it’s raining or completely cloudless I guess the temperature before leaving the 15th floor. (Often with a layer too little or too heavy) So I like this little gadget!
