I love these kitchen finds on Mozi. Olive oil dispenser and tea towl.
Colourful printed cushions are great for livening up a drab room.
I wouldn’t mind getting my hands on this designer laptop cover.

This was the last campaign for American Swiss Jewelry. We just did a beautiful one for summer that is my favourite so far, I’ll have to show you when I am back from leave.

I have taken the day off sick today, I guess only because I can, as I am quiet for the first time in months. When there is a shoot on, your body is just not allowed to get sick. I think as I have time to rest, my body has decided, ok you have time to be sick now. Well Thanks! I guess rather now than on a scooter in Bali.
So I am spending my time finding things I like and working on my blog, client list, portfolio etc.. Stuff I can do in bed.
Here are a few things I have found on etsy. I loved these clutches. (I am still thinking weddings, as my brother in-law and super future sister in-law get hitched in November) I think these are fab for bridesmaids and guest alike.
You can find these bags by Girby Aileen’s on etsy.
These are four of the latest bedroom sets I did for Pres Les Linen. A mail order catalogue. I have an art director create mood boards according to the look and feel of the linen and then it is my job to re create the look. There is always a challenge in these types of shoot, finding old headboards are not as easy as finding the latest fashion trend that is staring at you from every shop window. But I really enjoy it and love rummaging through old antique stores and warehouses. Though personally I wouldn’t invest in this type of linen (I’m a plain white cotton girl) I love creating these old worldly sets.

This brings me joy!(and makes me broody). I love these little outfits as seen on Oh Joy designed by 3.1 Philip Lim. What a great find! These little outfits are way too cool for school! You must visit Oh Joy to see the next post on great bed linen.
These are a couple of the shots used for the latest Tempo Watch Campaign. I really enjoyed the shoot. The brief was great and we tried to create an urban city feel and a more glamorous approach. The photographs chosen are always the ones with the least styling, just my luck, but I loved the black and white images and the models speak for themselves. We shot this with Antonia Steyn from One League. I’ll have to try get my hands on some more.
I had to do some origami the other day, for the first time ever I think, for my stationery shoot I have yet to show you. It really got the nuts and bolts in my brain ticking and I had to start off with something very simple. I tried the gorgeous Wentworth Miller’s origami crane from Prison Break, but I had to backtrack and go a little more simple as seen here with my origami duck
Origami dress by Sandra Buckland . Sandra creates amazing sculptural clothing through wool, paper and even hair. I have a long way to go before doing a dress!
Here is the pattern to fold your own Origami duck. I found it on www.origami.com . There are hundreds of other patterns to try! I’m sure you can do better than I did!
Well I have had lots of queries about my wedding dress. I by no means can take any credit for it. I found the picture under Kleinfeld Collections on The Knot. I fell in love with it! Unfortunately with living In South Africa, I didn’t have much access to shipping the beautiful dress from the States with our exchange rate etc. So I called upon Suzy Reynolds who made my matric dance dress. Suzy is fantastic. She points out all the areas she thinks will not flatter you, make you feel uncomfortable, chooses fabric with you and boy does she know her fabric. She was wonderful. She never for a moment made me nervous with my dress. I just loved the result.

Here I pulled it out again for my shoot. It is just too pretty to leave hanging in the cupboard.

Moving on to Kim’s reception! I want to get right to the pictures, as they are just so beautiful, so rich in color…
I love the easy, relaxed vibe of this reception. Using the floor cushions as extra seating is both practical and oh-so-chic. The style reminds me of a really great, intimate dinner with friends, which is just what a wedding should be.
More Details from Kim…
I had the best time styling a Moroccan styled banquet. Being a stylist, it’s the one chance I had to please only myself.
We had the most beautiful Venue , a family farm - www.knorhoek.co.za great for weddings and for shoot locations! After the ceremony, guests chilled on cushions (my mom made from fabric I collected over the years from shoots) on kilim carpets under the trees to fend from the still hot setting sun. Candles in bright oranges, greens, reds and bronzes added such warmth to the atmosphere and having lots of little glasses of flowers made for easy conversation around the tables instead of dodging huge arrangements.
Kim is the most talented stylist…you can check out her work and her inspirations on her blog. Brace yourself, there is so much eye candy, you’ll be on the site for hours!
As seen on www.stylemepretty.com
I am so excited to show you today’s real wedding…not only because it’s simply a gorgeous affair, but also because I get to introduce you to the bride, Kim Gray…a stylist who has provided hours of inspiration for me since she first introduced herself a few weeks ago! Before we get into all of the details though, here are some of the lovely ceremony photos from Kim’s recent wedding…
Aside from her AMAZING dress and the oh-so-adorable flower girl, I just love the sweet simplicity of this ceremony. Set in a pretty garden, among friends and family, this couple completely takes center stage. Stay tuned for so many more details and images from the Moroccan themed reception that Kim designed!
Thanks Abby from style me pretty for the kind words!
While we are on the topic of cakes, here are two talented cake makers. I have used Callie Maritz and Mari-Louis Guy of cakebread for some of my own shoots, and I can vouch. There cupcakes are delicious! See their blog for more info.
Above is a shoot I did for Horizons Inflight Magazine using Cakebread. Mari-Louis made me a huge selection of cupcakes to chose from and really put in a lot of effort for the shoot. I would definitely recommend this team!
This is the first of the “Let them eat cake” shoot I did. Lots more pictures to come. I am still waiting for all the images. But I was dying to post something so long. More to come soon.

I was shooting some Zenabu Jewelry for www.adamandeve.co.za last week and thought I’d share a few of my favourite pieces. I love these swarovski crystal pieces. Justine was even kind enough to let me keep a pair of earrings! I feel super glam in them. I have been very humbled by my gifts this week! Thanks Justine!
